Ten Years Spent Chasing the Swing

Austin has spent the last ten years traveling the United States learning from top hitting coaches, and is dedicated to helping players become confident, dangerous hitters. That pursuit of the craft is the foundation everything at G1 is built on.

Leonardtown High School

As Head Baseball Coach at Leonardtown High School in Southern Maryland, Austin has built a career record of 46‑18 (.741). In 2024, he led the program to the 4A Maryland State Championship — the school’s second title ever, and its first since 1987.

Shepherd University

From 2017 to 2019, Austin served as the hitting coach at Shepherd University (D2). During his time there, Shepherd’s offense ranked top 10 in the country in batting average, home runs, on-base percentage, slugging, and runs per game.

G1 Baseball and Softball Training

Austin founded G1 to give serious baseball and softball players a higher standard of hitting development. Through G1’s proven development systems, he and the G1 staff have worked with hundreds of players — from youth athletes all the way through professional baseball — including hitters who have gone on to college programs and professional organizations.
